F-56A Magnum

Overview:

The F-56A Magnum is a long range, high performance air dominance fighter designed for extended patrols over friendly or hostile airspace. It is primarily tasked with defending vast amounts of airspace, such as the East and West coasts of the United States, along with escorting high performance tactical and strategic bomber aircraft.

It relies extensively on off the shelf technology developed for the F-22 Raptor, F-35 Lightning II, and F-14D Super Tomcat, while using state of the art engine technology to allow for extended range in both subsonic and supersonic regimes. Due to the nature of the engines (pulsed-detonation variable bypass turbofans), the aircraft perform most of its mission at supersonic speeds. The airframe itself is optimized for sustained supersonic performance, along with high agility and a rapid climb rate. Turn performance is on par with contemporary 4.5 and 5th generation airframes, while speed is superior. Due to its nature, it lacks true stealth and instead relies extensively on its very powerful (over 1Mw in total output) jamming/active stealth system and adaptive electrochromic paint.
